The 2004 New Media Consortium Conference

July 1st, 2004

The NMC Conference was absolutely a fantastic experience. Not only did it provide the opportunity to travel to British Columbia for the first time, but I was able to attend seminars and training that were custom tailored to my position at PLU. Added on top of all this, the setting (at the University of British Columbia) was inspiring and provided the chance for some educational siteseeing. I availed myself of two “sites” in particular: The Nitobe Memorial Garden and The UBC Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research. I thought I’d include some photos from both those places here.

Below the photos are notes from some of the workshops I attended. All told, I attended 10 Workshops (two preconference workshops on DRM and Copyright and Macromedia Flash) and 4 Conference events (granted, the Conference events included the “Gala Dinner” and the “Opening Reception” …nevertheless…). For more pictures and descriptions, take a look at Kevinfreitas.net and here.
