Recorded live at Union Chapel, London, 2002 during the ‘ Lazy Eyeball ‘ tour – complete concert footage featuring DB backed by a full band and the Tosca strings. I like David Byrne, but I’m mostly linking to this because he made some cool video clips available from the DVD:

Tune in to TV on the Radio .. Having just won the $10,000 Shortlist Prize, TV on the Radio are hotter than ever. The band seemed to come out of nowhere in 2003 with their Young Liars EP and followed it up with a hot full-length. With doo-wop vocals and distorted guitars they create soulful rock music that just may be able to save pop. (via)

“He’s an MC, I’m MC. We’re all doing music. If we’re Arabs – if we’re Jews – that doesn’t matter” – rapper Quami De La Fox.
Ty checks out the scene in Israel where the army runs the main radio station and the playlist is all Britney and rock.
Hip hop has been going down in the background until now: Crews made up of Jews and Arabs are grabbing the mic to express themselves on the war that dominates their lives.
On both sides of the political hating the artists stand up for channelling rage into music and say it’s more constructive than the politicians’ solution.

“DJ Danger Mouse came to fame when he remixed the Beatles’ “White Album” with Jay-Zee’s “Black Album” and called the result the “Grey Album.” EMI, who hold the Beatles’ copyright, went nuts and threatened to sue anyone who hosted the MP3s. This led to Downhill Battle’s Grey Tuesday protest.” – BoingBoing
The remix is genius, and it’s kept me hopping late into the night nodding my head & coding on more than one occasion. Amazingly, someone has produced a video for one of the tracks.

Those who choose not to rap, DJ or B-boy are making their mark in a whole different way.
Writers are spreading their names on walls and trains everywhere from New York to Newcastle.
Since back in the day it’s been pretty much the backdrop to hip hop.

“The WIRED CD: Rip. Sample. Mash. Share.”
These musicians are saying that true creativity needs to be open, fluid, and alive. When it comes to copyright, they are pro-choice. Here are 16 songs that encourage people to play with their tunes, not just play them. — WIRED magazine, November issue

The link below is a WM video documenting a paper illusionary affect of a dragon that seems to follow the camera around with its head. That’s the best description I can write for this one.

A better than average conspiracy site, and it’s opening remarks made me feel as though it were a worthwhile link …

“Copenhagen — A massive blaze at a fireworks factory in western Denmark, left a 33-year-old firefighter dead and destroyed at least 20 homes.
Hundreds of firefighters fought the huge blaze at the N.P. Johnsens fireworks factory in western Denmark, 125 miles from the Danish capital.”
I looked around for some video of the Danish fireworks factory exploding, and coudn’t find anything. I imagine one of the news organizations bought up the amateur home video and so its not widely available now.
But you can watch home video of some other fireworks factory blowing up via windows media here . . .
